
Babak John Orandi
Dr. Babak Orandi attended the University of Michigan, where he was enrolled in the Inteflex Integrated Premedical/Medical Program. He lived in Nicaragua from 2005-2006 under the auspices of a Fulbright Fellowship. He also obtained a master’s degree in clinical research at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and spent a year at the National Institutes of Health as a clinical research training program fellow before graduating from medical school with an M.D. with Distinction in Research. He completed his general surgery residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he also completed a Ph.D at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His research has largely focused on incompatible kidney transplantation and antibody-mediated rejection. His work has been published in the American Journal of Transplantation, Transplantation, the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology and the Journal of Vascular Surgery. He recently completed an abdominal transplant surgery fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco.
